essentially on a touchscreen hitting/clicking on the payment type menu is very tricky at the very least two clicks must be made in order to select payment type. if instead there were five buttons in a row for different payment types defaulting on cash you would need to press appropriate button and enter tendered value.
one of the aims of the new UI IMHO should be streamling the work flow eg lowering the number of clicks required to process transactions or the distance one needs to move ones finger for making a necessary click (the complete sale button). I operate a very small corner store and there are times of the day when speed of transactions makes all the difference.
@Usama I talked with my designer about your concern but unfortunately we just don't have the real-estate for 5 buttons. What if we made the dropdown box bigger?
its great, when will it be ready?
ReplyDeleteTargeting 2 weeks
ReplyDeleteI like the interface, as you mentioned, it looks more professional. Hope you can finish it soon.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! This is great. Really looks nice... Great job, I will be waiting for this.
ReplyDeleteWlll it be usable from a mobile?? this way we could use built in barcode scanners and use android/iphone as pos terminals.
ReplyDeleteLooks very nice. Would it be possible to have buttons for 'Payment Type'. A drop-down menu at the very least adds two extra clicks.
ReplyDelete@Usama I am not sure buttons won't work as there is not enough room in the UI. How would you see it working?
ReplyDelete@jeroen_peelaerts Currently we are not targeting mobile, but this is something we want to do in the future.

having said the above I would like to again say it looks very nice and your work is most appreciated.

ReplyDeleteThank you. that would be great.
ReplyDeleteCould you also kindly look into bringing the complete sale button a little higher by lowering the payment details section.
I think this sales interface will work well on an iPad
ReplyDeletevery nice Chris ;)
ReplyDeleteMy compliments for the project and for the new interface... looking forward to seeing that live.
ReplyDeletenosf
looks good, will this be for the open source or the paid version?
ReplyDeleteThis will be for the paid version only.
ReplyDeletewhen are we going to see the new release?
ReplyDeleteWe are aiming for 2-3 weeks. It is taking longer than expected, but the time waiting will be worth it!
ReplyDeletei am using now the PHP point of sale 11.2
ReplyDeleteBut i am aming to purchase the newer one once done....
can you add a feature concerning the on account sales ? i have some trustable customers they buy goods without paying on spot..
please advice
thank you and good luck
Do you think you could use the suspend sale feature? Basically you would suspend the sale until they pay. Or would you want it handle it differently?
ReplyDeleteif i have multiple suspends my stock will remain intact thus the inventory will be wrong....
ReplyDeletei would like to add "on account" feature if possible so i can track my customers purchases and on account statement.
When will this interface become available?
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to buy and Download PHP point of sale next week. Any news on the new interface? it would be important.
ReplyDeleteHello! Just wondering- will this ever be available on the open source version? I would LOVE to have this :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
